Bioengineering research is a challenging task that requires a constant awareness of emerging technologies. Thus, to effectively advance engineering research, we embrace the newest optical, electronic, and fabrication technologies for use in biomedical and environmental imaging and sensing. Our lab focus is on the development of photonics and bio-photonics instruments. We leverage free form nano and microfabrication and materials to enable new imaging and sensing concepts. Specifically, we work to enhance performance of integrated miniature imaging systems (through combination of custom components and computations) as well as multi -dimensional snapshot imaging modalities. System examples include hyperspectral snapshot imaging, volumetric snapshot OCT, and integrated miniature diagnostic optics.
